Bay Six Half Marathon Training Week - #1

Training Schedule vs. Training Actuality
Week #1 - 12/26/2011

For this race we decided to add a little challenge to the training.  For each solid 'run day':

Amanda will do: 3 push ups and 10 crunches for every mile
Joe will do: 5 push ups and 10 crunches for every mile

Doesn't sound so bad right now, but 4 days a week of doing it...  and then tack on the long runs on Saturdays up to 12 miles!  It's a lot!  =)

Monday - Strength and Strengthen vs. 1.5 mile walk
Tuesday - 3 mile run vs. 3 mile run (9 push ups and 30 crunches)
Wednesday - 5x400 (5K pace) vs. Rest
Thursday - 3 m run and Strength vs. 3 mile run (9 push ups and 30 crunches)
Friday - Rest vs. Rest
Saturday - 5 mile run vs. 5 mile run (15 push ups and 50 crunches)
Sunday - 3 mile run vs. 3 mile run (9 push ups and 30 crunches)

This week was a good week for training, I was scheduled to run 15.25 miles and ran 15.3 miles.  I also did 42 push ups and 140 crunches.

Totals from the start of training (12/26/2011):
Total: 15.3 miles
Total: 42 push ups
Total: 140 crunches
