Day 18- Plans/dreams/goals you have

Plans, Dreams, and Goals...

Let's start by defining personality traits...

Type A Personality - The theory describes a Type A individual as ambitious, aggressive, business-lie, controlling, highly competitive, impatient, preoccupied with his or her status, time-conscious, and tightly-wound. people with Type A personalities are often high-achieving "workaholics" who multi-task, push themselves with deadlines , and hate both delays and ambivalence.

Type B Personality - The theory describes a Type B individual as perfect contrast to those with Type A personalities. People with Type B personalities are generally patient, relaxed, easy-going, and at time slacking an overriding sense of urgency.

As many of you can guess I'm definitely a Type A personality, with some exceptions...

Plan noun ['plan]
1. a drawing or diagram drawn on a plan:
a: a top or horizontal view of an object
b: a large-scale map of a small area
2. a: a method for achieving an end
b: an often customary method of doing something: procedure
c: a detailed formulation of a program of action
d: goal

My Plans... Planning, scheduling, staying on track is definitely a strong point of mine. I have many lists for different plans... I have personal and work plans (list of to do's) for the week at my desk. I also have a long list of plans on the refrigerator for things that I would like to do to the house by the end of the year. This list is also known as 'Joe's Approved Project List', otherwise he'll start random things that aren't as important in my book. On the 'Joe's Approved Project List' for example, renovate the front yard (slowly in progress), paint the 'Aspen' room, paint and renovate the guest bathroom and master bathroom, new carpet, etc. Some of our other plans are: Niagara Falls (August 2011), Snowshoe Ski Resort (January 2012), and Vail Ski Resort (March 2012)...

Goal noun ['gol]
1. a: the terminal point of a race
b: an area to be reached safely in children's games
2. the end toward which effort is directed

My Goals... I can't say I'm much of a goal setter, I guess you can say some of my plans are goals because I want them finished?!? I've never been one to aspire to be a big wig at a company or anything like that. I guess one of my goals is to make enough money so I don't have to work (or work only part-time) when/if we have children. The only goal I can think of is to run another 10 miler this year. Probably the American Tobacco Trail 10-miler that is held in October in Cary, NC. It's been several years since I've run any race greater than a 5K. Like I said from my first post, I'm still recovering from the Chicago Marathon that was in 2006. ;)

Dream noun ['drem]
1. a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep
2. an experience of walking life having the characteristics of a dream:
a: a visionary creation of the imagination
b: a state of mind marked by abstraction or release from reality
c: an object seen in a dreamlike state
3. a: a strongly desired goal or purpose
b: something that fully satisfies a wish

My Dreams... It's most girls dreams to be a wife, have a house, have a pet, and a family... So far I'm 3 for 4.

We were married at Duke Gardens, Durham NC on August 16, 2008.

Side Note: Yesterday (June 17th) was our first visit to the vet for a 'sick' kitty. Norman has been acting strange, itching and biting his fur spastically, and shaking his ears (since June 16th). The doctor is unsure as to what is bothering him (no ear infection, signs of fleas, etc) as there have been no changes in the household (food, products, etc.), but said if by chance he got bit by a flea or two he may have an allergy to the flea saliva. He was given Prednisone, which is which is a corticosteriod to help stop the itching. He's had 2 pills thus far and the itching hasn't shown to be any better yet. I'm sure his skin is still irritated. Hopefully I'll have more of an update after the weekend is over. Contessa seemed to be fine all until this morning at 4am when I heard her shaking her ears. I haven't seen her bite/itch like Norman yet, but who knows... Now I'm just a paranoid parent. Guess I'll be keeping an eye on her too!
