Friendship is defined as a form of interpersonal relationship generally considered to be closer than association, although there is a range of degrees of intimacy in both friendships and associations. Value that is found in friendships is often the result of a friend demonstrating the following on a consistent basis:
- The tendency to desire what is best for the other
- Sympathy and empathy
- Honesty, perhaps in situations where it may be difficult for others to speak the truth, especially in terms of pointing out the perceived faults of one's counterpart
- Mutual understanding and compassion
- Trust in one another (able to express feelings - including in relation to the other's actions - without the fear of being judged); able to go to each other for emotional support
- Positive reciprocity - a relationship is based on equal give and take between the two parties
Most likely your friends are going to enjoy the same things you do. Generally speaking... There are obviously some things that I enjoy, that my friends don't enjoy. That's what makes each of us unique...
Our parents always told us that it's important for us to chose our friends wisely. At the end of they day they are an influence on your life... There are definitely points in ones life when we have to define what is important to us, what do we want to be around all the time? If you have friends that are constantly going out partying and drinking, and that having a clean and healthy body is what you aspire, then we must remove some people in our lives. The people you weed out, will help be a motiviation to stay on track of your goals. Especially as a Chrisitian... We all steer in and out of the straight and narrow path, but it's important for us to have those strong Christian friends and family that can help steer us back to the righteous path. Without those people, we'd be lost and living in the ways of this world.
Each one of my friends are very dear to me... You all know who you are and I don't feel the need to name each one out as to what I think about them. You are all important to me and are my friends for a reason. You are my support system that I need to function on a day to day basis. God put you in my life for a reason and I appreciate every penny of it. Love each and everyone of you!
I am so happy God led me to you. I'm so grateful to know you!!! :)
