Often we spend a lot of time staring in the mirror trying to figure out if you look okay in this. Sometimes we need to step out of our comfort zone and stop playing it on the safe side. When you do this, outfits can feel boring and that you have no sense of style.
The first thing you need to thing about is to organize your wardrobe. It's like your kitchen. Let's say you have spices all over in every single cabinet in there. How will you know where to find the pepper if it could be in 7 different cabinets? There are many different options on how to organize your closet, by color, by season, by type, etc. I chose to organize by 'type'. I keep all of my tank tops in one location, my long sleeves in another, jeans, skirts, dresses, shoes, etc. Once you have those in order, then I'd suggest sorting by color.
One may ask well why does it have to be so organized? Well one it's a lot easier to sift through if you know where everything is. You know you want to wear a long sleeve shirt? OK! Go to location...? Now what color? Well I want blue! So then all of your blue long sleeve shirts are in 1 location and it narrows it down to which one to wear.
Also by organizing your wardrobe it gives you a clear picture of you are lacking in your closet and will also make it easier to pull outfits together.
Once your closet is organized, it'll be easier to find out what your lacking. So now you need to have a shopping plan! This is where you will decide what you are missing in your closet. Sometimes we are missing some of those staple items and don't even realize it since our closet is so unorganized!
The toughest part sometimes is pulling the clothes out of the closet and making it an outfit. Being creative can be very difficult, but sometimes we just need to come out of our shell! Don't be afraid to try something new! Sometimes you can call a friend to come over for an opinion. Just make sure it's an honest one! A full length mirror can also be your best friend.
Another thing that helps me with ideas is to look at pictures and magazines. I'm not always the most creative person, but I can use other peoples ideas and try to pull them off myself.
GOOD LUCK ORGANIZING AND HAPPY SHOPPING!
