Day 10- Do you give to charities or other people around the holidays? Which is your cause of choice?

We enjoy giving to several different charities each year, but outside of giving to our church, Colonial Baptist. We also enjoy giving to these 2 organizations on an annual basis.

CARE hits home for us, as that is where we adopted Norman & Contessa from. CARE will take in animals or adopt them from shelters and place them in foster homes in hopes to find them a 'fur-ever' home. Every time I see commercials for ASPCA it just breaks my heart. I know that I cannot adopt every animal in the world, but I can at least adopt my own and give financially to help these animals who just want to have a home, food, and love.

The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God's desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. After describing how the Samaritan rescued a hurting man whom others had passed by, Jesus told His hearers, "Go and do likewise."

For over 40 years, Samaritan's Purse has done our utmost to follow Christ's command by going to the aid of the world's poor, sick, and suffering. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This, in turn, earns us a hearing for the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

  1. This year is actually the first year I´m going to contribute to children that don´t have hands, and who paint with the help of their feet or mouth...it´s so important to be thankful for our own life and help those who weren´t so lucky!
