DIY Garden Bench

Last summer my husband and I had stone blocks delivered to create an edge for our flowerbed in front of the house.  Once all of the stones were used up we were left with a couple of wooden pallets.  I just assumed that my husband was going to toss them in the trash.  I noticed the pallets leaning against the fence by the trash, however they were never put out on trash day.  Upon my inquiry, my husband said he was letting them “age” and he would find a use for them.  I took this to mean he was being lazy and would eventually drag them out on a future trash day.  Months quickly went by and the pallets continued to sit by the trash against the fence until we finally received a letter from our HOA notifying us that the pallets had to be moved within a week.  I guess my husband decided they had “aged” long enough and started to get to work.  Within a few hours he ripped them apart and I could see he was turning the recycled pallets into a garden bench.  The bench is approximately 18 inches high, 30 inches long, and 12 inches wide.  All together, my hubby turned 3 pallets into 3 benches after discarding the unusable pieces of wood.

There is no telling what you can do with a little wood and some imagination...

After we finished this project, I came across this blog with more ideas on what to do with pallets!

  20. I love how cats sleep like that! and my cat, well he lives at my parents house, never had even gotten close to his cat bed. Like he hates it. But I guess when you can have the couch, why choose the bed on the floor, ha
