Race Week! Bay Six Half Marathon (13.1)

Well the race is finally here (Sunday @ 7am)!  This week was a little rough due to the warm weather and the high pollen levels.  I have spring allergies and I don't like taking medication, so I only ran on Tuesday and took the rest of the week off until Race Day.  I mean what is missing one 3 mile run going to do for me anyways?

Training Schedule vs. Training Actuality
Week #12 - 3/12/2012

Monday - Rest vs. Rest
Tuesday - 4 m run vs. 3.5 mile run
Wednesday - Strength and Strengthen vs. Rest
Thursday - 3 m run and Strength vs. Rest
Friday - Rest vs. Rest
Saturday - Rest vs. Rest
Sunday -  Race Day! vs. 13.1 m run

Total Mileage To Date178.5 miles
Scheduled Total Mileage (12 weeks)213.7 miles
Accomplished Schedule: 85%

I accomplished 85% of the mileage that was on my training schedule and I'm actually quite impressed with myself; not to toot my own horn or anything.  However, running 178.5 miles in a 3 month period, that's a lot of mileage!  I missed 35.2 miles of training and I can attest to those.  In week #2, we had a extremely bitter cold blast and we also went skiing that weekend, therefore, taking the entire week off.  In week #9, I was having some issues with my leg,  a visit to the orthopedic and there again took an entire week off.  Each week I had to run approximately 15 miles a week, so there are my missing 30 miles.

~ TOMORROW IS THE RACE DAY! ~

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL RUNNER'S TOMORROW!

  2. You're such an inspiration! I can't wait to do my first race, although the most I've ever ran was 6 miles. I really should start training for a half-marathon. Good luck tomorrow!
