Weekend Update
This past weekend was a whirlwind for us... Friday night was the only mellow evening that we had! Besides baking a lemon cheesecake (recipe on this later), going to the grocery store, prepping the meat marinade for Saturday, then finally ordering some sushi in and just vegging on the couch we call that a somewhat relaxing Friday. Saturday morning was our 10K (6.2 mile) race! Surprisingly I had no anxiety this go around (maybe b/c it wasn't a long distance race..?), thank goodness!!! Joe ran the race in 47:35 (7:40 pace) and I ran it in 57:23 (9:15 pace). Once we were finished we stuck around to watch the 5K (3.1 mile) to cheer on our dear friend Kim! The rest of our Saturday entailed cooking until the minute our guests arrived for dinner. With a wonderful cuisine of Korean food (YUM!) and great friends we ended the night exhausted... Sunday morning we skipped church (so tired... but that's really not a good excuse not to go to church). Late that morning we worked in the flower garden until about lunch and off to a couples baby shower for the afternoon at a park. By 6pm my butt was planted like a potato (and firmly rooted) on the couch and did not move. We'll just say that Sunday night was a good night sleep, but still exhausted on this lovely Monday workday.
Hope you had a great weekend! Good Day Friends...

Congrats on the run -- amazing! And I love that BR ring.
ReplyDeleteYour cat is so gorgeous and the cupcake looks epic! Well done on running the 10k in a really good time! I am running a 10k in July and hope to reach this time. Last time I ran a 5 mile race with no training (just really didn't want to come last!) and ran it in 45ish minutes. How often did you train/timings if you don't mind me asking. xx
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting you are running a 10K in July! I use the Hal Higdon Training Program (Intermediate level). Typically I am running 4-5 days a week depending on my work schedule / weather / etc. Here is the link! http://www.halhigdon.com/ Can't wait to hear how your training goes! xoxo A-
