this past week and weekend was a whirlwind...

Friday I spent my day running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to do work in the morning, my normal chores and prepare for dinner guest.  As usual when we have guest over I have the fear of Norman (the cat aka the Spawn of Satan) acting out.  We had a surprising turn of events and he was actually fine?!?  No lashing out at anyone and just slept on an extra dining room chair with us at the table?  Maybe he's turning a new leaf?  Probably not, but maybe age (he's 2) will eventually help.  Saturday we woke up early and went to Panera for breakfast at the mall.  I do love their Cinnamon Crunch bagel, YUM!  I was able to run an errand or two and pick up my new sunnies at Banana Republic!  Love them!  Once we returned home we were off to the Peak City Pig Fest downtown.  It was difficult to find parking, very, very hot...  utter chaos...  lines for food (at a total of 3 vendors, poor execution) a block long...  leaving no choice but to purchase something that was non-BBQ at a BBQ festival.  It was quite disappointing.  We gave it an A- for effort, but an F for execution.  Later that night we were off to the sister-in-laws house for dinner and a birthday celebration.  We also exchanged names for Christmas!  It seems so early, but I love having ample time to prepare.  We've been exchanging names for several years now and it works out wonderfully!  As we have all noted before, none of us need anything so no need for all of the crazy gifts.  Sunday, is our usual go to church, groceries, run and do chores.  However, this weeks run reminded us that it is Summer and in full force.  We ran 4 miles.  The first 2 miles we ran at a 9:15 pace and it had been awhile since I had run.  So one it felt like a fast pace and two I felt like I was chewing the air it was so thick.  On the return back, not only was I chewing the air, my body was not sweating it out due to the humidity and I felt like I was running through molasses.  Can you tell I thoroughly enjoyed that run?  Fortunately I have been exercising elsewhere this Summer (DVD's and the occasional swim to keep cool).  Other than that we spent our Sunday afternoon running errands and finishing our chores prior to the start of the work week.
