Sunday's Social: Fall Season

Fall Season

indian summer sun beaming on your skin
hair tousled in the cool crisp arctic air from the northern skys

green summers leaves turning to amber hues of fall

curled up with a blanket next to the wood burning fire
goldening marshmallows by the open flame

this is my favorite time of year...

1. What is your favorite fall activity?
I love hiking.  For one, I grew up in central Florida where there is no such thing as fall foliage.  Hiking in Florida, is really trail walking and unless you want to walk through swamp.  


2. Do you follow a football team? If so which one and why?
We follow West Virginia University and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  In all honesty, I never had much interest in watching sports until I met Joe.  Joe is a die hard Mountaineer through and through.  He was born and raised in West Virginia and graduated from WVU and bleeds old gold and blue.  I guess that means I bleed it now too.  haha

3. What are your favorite fall outfit staples?
I love boots, jackets, scarves and wearing my hair down.  I know my friends back home wore these items in the Winter, but I never truly appreciated their purpose until feeling true cool/cold weather.

4. What things are you looking forward to most about this coming fall season?
This Summer, pretty much like every other Summer here in North Carolina is miserable.  When temperatures are soaring about 100F /37.78C with humidity above 80% and the heat index is about 115F / 46.11 you just want to hide inside and not go anywhere.  You take a shower, walk outside to get to the car and your sweating already...  and in need for another shower!  Summer is probably my least favorite season that's for sure.


5. What is your favorite fall holiday?
turkey
mashed potatoes and gravy
green bean casserole
yams
granny's stuffing
cranberry sauce
my mother's crescent rolls
pumpkin pie

Need I say more?  I think this sums it up on F.R.I.E.N.D.S

    I LOVE that episode of FRIENDS (It's Thanksgiving, not Truth Day! I may be able to recite that whole episode!) We actually just got back from a weekend trip to WV - and I kept thinking how beautiful it would be to visit there in the fall.

    Hi sweetie! Sorry I've been kind of absent lately, my schedule has been crazy. I'm with you in LOVING fall ... I love Sunday drives through golden foilage, love the smell that's released into the air when you walk through crispy leaves, love bonfires, pumpkins ... everything!! This year we've had the very hot weather here in Michigan just like North Carolina ... 100F, when we usually are in the 80's! I had to smile when you said wearing your hair down is a favorite thing in fall, because I've had my hair up this summer almost every day (it's been a necessity!) .. usually it's not an issue! As much as I truly love summer and all of it's warmth and sunshine (don't like cold and am NOT a fan of winter), I adore fall and it's always been special to me. My birthday AND anniversary fall during September, so I guess you could say I'm just an Autumn baby! Have a great week! ~Sandy

    Fall is my favorite time of year too. Football season and boots- I love it! And since it feels like perpetual fall in Monterey, it is nice to feel dressed for the right season finally.
