Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens

On our last day in Maine we headed north to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.  Due to the time of year, we went back and forth whether we even wanted to go to the gardens.  We tend to think flowers equates to Spring and Summer.  However, we decided we are here in Maine with nothing better to do, so we decided to give it a go.  We drove through fog and a little drizzly rain approximately 1.5 hours north of Portland to Boothbay.

Once we arrived we realized we were the only visitors there.  Which could be good or bad, depending on a few factors.  We assumed there were no visitors at that time due to the temperamental weather conditions.  However, we were prepared with an umbrella in hand and me in my rain boots for worse case scenario.

We meandered through the gardens for about 2 hours.  As you will see, the fall colors were beautiful and there were still a few flowers in bloom.  We were so glad we went!
