Lighthouses, a Church, Kennebunkport and Ogunquit

On day number two in Maine, we weren't quite as fortunate with the first days weather (post here and here).  Our next stop was Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth Maine.  Once we walked out onto the rocks, we looked and looked and looked and looked and couldn't find ANY lighthouses.  A state park that is called Two Lights and no lights?  what the heck!?!?  So we hung out for a little while, soaked in the view (and cold) and headed back to the car.  We found a sign that said the lighthouses were outside of the state park up the road.  strange.

The Bush compound is the summer home of the 41st President of the United States, George Bush, Sr.  The property has been a family for more than a century   The mansion was built in 1903 and later passed on to Dorothy Walker Bush (from father St. Louis banker George H. Walker).  The estate has since remained in the Bush family.

Then we stopped at Pier 77 for a little lunch.  I had delicious crab cakes and Joe had clam chowder and fish and chips.  another great meal!  You can see how delicious my crab cakes looked here.

Then we drove a little further south to Ogunquit, which Joe likes to pronounce okunKkkkkkkkkkk.  some spitting may be involved in that pronunciation.  Here we did a little shopping and stopped by another beach, but this one had sand!  no rocks!  It was a little too cold for either of us to hang outside on the beach for too long.  We headed back to the car just in time for a downpour!  We sat in the car for a little while just listening to the rain and watching the ocean.
