Today's high is a mere 36 degrees, which is rather a cold day here in the state of North Carolina. This past weekend the temperatures were soaring at 60 degrees with sunny skies! I couldn't pass up the opportunity to play outside. With lots of walks, letting the sun kiss my cheeks, I couldn't resist... I know the sun is bad for you, blah blah blah, but when it's winter and you go to work when it's dark and come home when it's dark... there are only so many days with the sun is favorable enough to bathe in it.
Sometimes in the winter months, I'll open the main door and plop down in front of the storm door. Our front door is very dark and faces south, therefore the sun beats on it all day long. Once it's open, the warm dark door heats up your back side and the sun through the storm door warms your front side. The cats even come over to join me. They too love the warm sun. Their silky fur turns into fire in 1.2 seconds, but they don't seem to mind it at all.
i may occasionally even pull up a chair and sit in front of the storm door.
the husband finds this rather entertaining.
i have to remind him, i grew up in Florida ya know.

I get so tired of the darkness and cold of winter, too! Sunshine is a beautiful thing--lets just put on some sunscreen and I'm sure we'll be fine! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a mere 7 degrees here today! I know exactly how you feel about the dark. Sometimes it's just so depressing. I can somewhat handle the colder temps as long the sun is shinning :)
