This past weekend was our five year wedding anniversary. If you follow me on instagram (@adoenglish) I reminisced on some of our wedding photos... sigh... Where does the time go? really?
We had planned on a quick getaway this weekend to the mountains or the beach. We had both already planned to take Friday off from work, but the weather had taken a turn for the worse. High of 72 with 60-70% chance rain, so we decided to make it a stay-cation and not go anywhere. Friday we received no rain and realized it really would have been a perfect day to go hiking... oh well... Instead we went shopping, had a wonderful lunch date and received a great fortune! 'Your ability to juggle many tasks will take you far'. With working full-time as an auditor and starting my photography business part-time it was a perfect lunch time fortune. here here to juggling many tasks!
Later that afternoon we pulled out a blanket, popped open a 5 year old bottle of wine we had purchased during our honeymoon from Cakebread Cellars in Napa Valley. We had decided that we were going to save this bottle of wine for a special occasion. I can't believe we waited this long to open it! what a delight! With lots of yummy cheese, story telling and giggling on the non-rainy 72 degree day in August, I will say it was wonderful. It wasn't what we had planned for a 5 year anniversary, but we enjoyed staying home and spending time together. At the end of the day, isn't that all that really matters? quality time... I can't imagine living with out this man.
Happy Anniversary! Love the picture of Joe pouring the wine. And we drank lots of Cakebread when we lived in Cali!
