This is a lite version of 'What's in Season?' here in North Carolina. However, each state I'm sure has their own version of this. Our printed version is right smack dab in the middle of our refrigerator.

This Sunday marked the Autumn equinox, which means that Summer is officially over. However, that doesn't mean it is the end of the Farmer's Market for us here in North Carolina. Fortunately, our state grows quite a variety of fruits and vegetables all year-round! yum!
Peach season is by far my favorite season, strawberries come in close at second. But it's September, apple season is in full-swing and that is the fruit of choice to my taste buds right now. Is there anything more delicious than a fresh picked apple? Not to mention the delicious things that you can make with apples, such as: cinnamon apple cobbler, apple pie, apple sauce, apple butter, candy apples, caramel apples, apple cider... the list could go on and on... great, now i'm hungry...

LOOOOOOVE the farmers market! I really enjoyed the photos you put up :)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so delicious! For me, it would be hard to pick a favorite among strawberry, blueberry, and apple season. Although, picking apples in the crisp fall weather is slightly more enjoyable than picking blueberries in the sweltering summer heat. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your apple list!!
ReplyDeleteSo there's a Farmer's Market in NYC in Union Square, and I've probably passed right by so many times thinking "I wouldn't even know what to do in there." Looking at your photos and "in season" chart makes me want to try it out. Like how cool would it be to respond to someone asking where I got the delicious watermelon with "Oh, the Farmer's Market. It's in season now you know"?? I'm excited!
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly certain that there is, in fact, nothing more delicious than a fresh picked apple. And BEAUTIFUL photos, by the way. Truly enjoyed them.
