my comforter my all in all

Today is day 14 of the Blogtember Challenge on Story of My Life!   Today's blog prompt ask to, react to this term: comfort

Joe and I are currently studying the book of Matthew at Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).  I had mentioned what BSF is along with telling my testimony last week in an earlier post if you missed it.  You can read the post here!

The most comforting thing in this world is knowing that I have a Savior.  I am not perfect, I am broken and weak and I definitely need Him in my daily walk.

In Genesis, Adam and Eve sinned, but God promised to send us a Savior.  The first promise was in Genesis 3:14-15.  (14)So the Lord God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, "Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals!  You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.   (15)And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head and you will strike his heel."   In verse 15, God said that He will crush his (Satan's) head and will strike his heel.  This hope comes to fulfillment in Jesus Christ, who is clearly presented in the New Testament through his death and overcame Satan!

In the New Testament in Matthew, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior was born.  Matthew 1:20-21.  (20)...an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joesph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  (21)She (Mary) will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins".  He came to to this world to save us from our sins!  In Matthew 27:32-56, the ultimate sacrifice to save us all occurred through Jesus crucifixion and death.

Without Him, I am nothing.  He is my strength, my comforter, my all in all.
