walking down memory lane

Today is day 11 of the Blogtember Challenge on Story of My Life!   Today's blog prompt ask that you write about, a memory you would love to relive.

Also, I'm doing a giveaway today from a cute little shop of modest dresses!

Joe and I were married 5 years ago, in August of 2008.  One of the few wedding responsibilities Joe had was to plan the honeymoon.  We aren't Joe isn't the type to take a trip and sit around sipping a fruity drink, with toes in the sand, reading a good book.  We he can't sit still for more than twenty minutes.  So we decided to be a little more adventurous than some on our honeymoon.  After searching for a few days, we found relatively cheap flights to San Francisco, California.  Then it was the challenge of what are we going to do there for 10 days?  So the crazy planning began.

Where we went: California

-San Francisco - 3 days
-Redwood National and State Parks (6 hours north) - 2 days
-Redding (4.5 hours east, south/east) - 1 day (really just driving through)
-Lassen Volcanic National Park (1 hour 45 min east) - 2 days
-Napa Valley (3 hour 45 min south) - 2 days
-San Francisco (1 hour 15min south) - home

Total: 955 miles, approx 18 hours of driving

Pictures are worth a thousand words, so I'll just let the images tell their story.

San Francisco

Redwood National and State Parks

Joe's favorite picture, his wife, the tiny tree hugger

Quick stop to: Eureka

Back to the Redwoods for a hike

  3. We were married in August 2008, too! :) I would love to visit San Francisco one day. This looks like such a great trip, and probably the kind of honeymoon my husband would have preferred to take. Riley has a hard time sitting still, too. :)
