that groundhog was right... a nice little snowcation

Indoor cats need to see a little snow...
Norman: What the mother of crap is this stuff?

Norman: Contessa, come check this stuff out!

We were calling for another winter storm in Raleigh last week.  Our average snowfall per year is 6 inches, which we hardly ever see.  Joe and I work at the same place, but work in different offices.  My office gave me the option to work from home on Wednesday.  So without a blink I took it, but Joe still went in.  He had planned to leave at the first sign of a snowflake.  He mentioned he was going to leave the office around 12.  So 12:45pm rolls around and I started to panic when the snow started to fall heavily and stick quickly to the roads.  Of course he had forgotten his cell phone so I wasn't able to call to check on his status.  With a lot of window pacing and trying to stay busy, the usual 30 minute commute took about 80 minutes (some of my friends took them 4-5 hours to get home).  Thankfully he made it home safe and sound.  Within a few hours we received about 5-6 inches of snow.  By nightfall it was sleeting and turned into freezing rain.  With the freezing rain and wind we were fearful that we were going to lose power, thankfully we kept our power.  Thursday called for more snow and another two days to stay home.

A lot more ice pictures to come!
