hello march.

We are nearing the end of the second week of the Lenten season...  Growing up I did not practice lent, but my husband did.  This year he gave up sweets...  For me, I "gave up" my Sunday's.  Let me explain...  Regardless Sunday is to be practiced as the Sabbath.  As we are studying the Life of Moses this year at Bible Study Fellowship, one things I realized I really needed to start practicing is a day of rest. Sabbath. A few references at the beginning Genesis 2:2-3, Exodus 16:23;20:8-24;31:17;34:21;35:2, Leviticus 23:3, Deuteronomy 5:12-15).  Resting on the Sabbath is not a suggestion, it's a command.

Traditionally I don't shoot on Sunday's for this reason, but I would still find myself working at home.  Cleaning, editing, running errands, etc.  We still go to church in the morning, but I "gave up" 6 hours (12 noon to 6pm) each Sunday to rest.  That means no friends, no phone, no internet, no computer, no television, no playing...  It means I can either sit on the couch, study the bible, read a book (Christian literature), pray, meditate or take a bath.  Joe has been partaking in most of my Sabbath activities, but he seems to be okay with it.  I think both of us a tired and are realizing how much we need to sit down on Sunday's and rest.  We are those type of people that are go, go, go.  We need that time for reflection, repentance and resting in Him.  Plus you  never know, you might even have a good kitty snuggle up next to you to help you rest and take a nap...
