farewell is not the end, but a new beginning.

Last Tuesday night was the first time this year that I have put on a pair of shorts.  It felt awkward.  It's been months, almost a half a year since my legs have seen any sort of light for an extended period of time.  On top of that, I don't think I have ever been this pale.  ever.  For pete sake I grew up in Florida and I mean there is no such thing as a tan line on this body of mine.  sad, but true.  My aging skin thanks me, but the rest of the world might think I am a vampire or something.  Anyways, Joe was off to a late night neighborhood meeting Tuesday and when he returned home he said, 'you look weird'.  I didn't take his comment offensively because, well, I felt weird.  shorts.  bare legs.  weird.  Even though it felt weird in a glorious kinda way; I am ready to ditch the cold weather wardrobe for awhile and possibly let the sun visit my skin.

On another note, today is my last day at Duke.  It's quite exciting, scary, bittersweet, awesome and liberating.  thank you Megan for most of those words.  For the last 10+ years I have worked a 9-5 job, really a 7:30-5 job.  PLUS my photography job for the last few years. So being home more, having more time to be able to dig into God's word each morning, managing my own workload, taking better care of my husband and home will be quite nice.  But face it, let's hope that I wear more than pajamas all day.  Everyday.  just sayin'.
