A few weeks ago Joe had to travel to San Diego for work and he wanted me to come along a few days prior to do a little adventuring. I hadn't been to San Diego since I was a little girl, maybe 4 or 5 years old? So my memory of it is slim to none. Anyways...
Our first full day in California was quite busy. For breakfast we went to 222 Cafe and tried their infamous peanut butter and banana french toast. I am not a sweets person at all for breakfast, however I might add that it was quite tasty!
Our first official stop was Balboa Park. We meandered around for awhile as nothing opened until around 9am, which for us seemed like FOREVER since we had a 3 hour time difference ahead. We had both been up since 4am or so...

We debated on going to any of the museums as none were free. We are use to Washington D.C. and North Carolina as all of their museums are free. It was quite the shock actually. In addition, they were having a special flower exhibit. Local florist created pieces that were inspired by a specific art piece.

probably one of my favorite portraits and flower arrangement.
go figure. (:
After lunch we headed to the La Jolla beaches to wander. We sat on the rocks for about 15 minutes, but I think we were both beat so that ended the adventures for the day.
